White flower needs a name :)

A beautiful flower with white lace like petals edged with lime green tips. The centre of the flower almost looked jeweled!

From Harlow Carr of course. What is it?I need a note book next time to identify what i photograph.

I think we will be going back on the 6th July so I can see the rest, and revisit the places I saw again.

Looks like Astrancia major to me. Also known as Masterwort.

I would put my bets on Astrantia major Alba (the white version) of the masterwort. I think these are out of my hardiness zone though, so I'll never get to grow them! Sigh.

It is indeed a beautiful flower. Sort of a bit like 'Love in a Mist' Nigella damscena. I received a catalog this year that had a number of Astrantias listed and thought they were beautiful flowers I should have in the garden but never got around to ordering them. After seeing yours, I'll make it a point to order some.

Yes, it's Astrantia major. It's one of my very favorite plants. I got 'Orca' this year and there are a couple of cultivars I want to get eventually.

Aren't they just the neatest things?

Ki,I have heard of them but the name bipassed me.I realised after the photo how spectacular it was.I will definitely grow them.
Kylee,I will do some looking up of your Cultivar Orca. Thanks for the comment.

I know it's Astrantia major, and just bought a specimen identified as "White Lace" grown by Northwest Perennials that looks a lot like the photo.

Many thanks for that glorious image!
