The kitchen windowsill was covered with a horrible white paint that was orange underneath. It has been flaking away over the past six months with the many pots of plants being rotated, brought into the windowsill. Away from the windowsill.
It had a slight pattern on one like yellow-ish flowers.I thought it was the painted surface was coming away.
After a day of tidying up the flat, watering the plants, and checking all the plants for health I decided to clean the Windosill.
I took all the pots off and cleaned...Strangely I discovered underneath the white/orange paint on the tile was a botanical picture.Using my now blunt fingernails I scraped the white paint away..
Lo, and behold Underneath was a Diplotaxis Muralis.
With pretty yellow flowers and long green peas in pods?
On Wikipedia its called wallrocket or wall mustard.

That's almost magical, discovering this tile on your windowsil.
It was quite spooky.I often write we need to look for the commonplace as we dont see it.The yellow flowers I assumed were from a peeling decal. They are beautiful Botanical decorations. When I leave the Flat the tiles will be replaced with white ones!!They have to come with me.
Oh definately, take them with you. That even crossed my mind when I was reading your post about it!
Oh my goodness!!! Seriously what a great find! I really love drawn or painted pictures of botanicals. Lucky! Don't use your fingernails anymore...:)
Thanks Salix tree I will!you are psychic :)
Dirty fingernails I cant now, my nails have been blunted by scratching the paint off.I didnt want to damage the Tile pictures.I didnt they are quite solid decals and had been kilned so were permenantly on.
How cool is that? Do you feel rather like an archaeologist in your own home? Wonderful tiles!
Thanks Lostroses, was very archeological finding them beneath the paint.Flower pictures too :)
