"In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful." (~Abram L. Urban)

Is this the way to Amarylis?ha ha, excuse the pun.Grown from my great Cousin Janet. This should be a Amarylis Ferrari (brooom, brooom). It has grown well. The bulb was like an onion with squid like roots.I will photograph any blooms....
Neither can I.The flowers are very orchid like in the pictures. It amazes me the size of the stems and flowers that grow from bulbs. From the tiniest bulbs come the biggest flowers. An old fairytale is Jack and the beanstalk.Where the most enormous beanplant grows from tiny seeds. Its like the bulb has an flower packed neatly inside like a parachute.Like the magician and his endless hanky coming out of his sleeve the bulbs have enormous stems and flowers..
