I have just bought a smoke bush, hope fully it will grow tall enough to block a particular view. its just a wee thing just now, aobut six inches high, fabulous leaf colour.
I've never heard of a smoke bush before, it looks quite delicate almost tropical, does it have to grow in morning sun or semi-shade?
Claire the leafs are gorgeous, and the flowers are so wispy, like smoke (hence smoke bush).I bought it two years ago.I love the way the red leafs glow in the light at the tips.It is also a fantastic burgundy colour to contrast with green or variegated foliage of other plants...
Roybe, it sits on a west facing wall below the kitchen windows.It has sunshine for half a day.Its shady in the morning.I will look up where its originally from.
