Sanctuary

After the blog post about pollinators yesterday I saw this wasp on the Helianthus this afternoon after I got up late. He was covered in pollen on his legs and thorax. He walked around the flower as i tried to get a good photo.
I love the fiery colours of the Helianthus flower. There are masses more buds too that have not opened yet.
Hopefully these will continue to attract flying insects into my garden.
I love these wildlife encounters, fifteen foot from my back door. Its lovely when gardens can become wildlife sanctuarys, so all forms of life can meet in the neutral garden.

Lemonade On The Rose Bench

This Wasp was sunbathing himself yesterday on the New Potato leaves in the grow bags. He was joined by bee's and large flys. Maybe these leaves were warm, the soil in the pots was warm to touch as the suns rays warmed.
Thanks for all the comments, six overnight. They are like buses, either none come, or a half dozen come in one day :)
The wasp reminds me that I have to take time to enjoy the garden. Sitting still does not come very natural to me. I am always flitting between job to job. I saw a beautiful Rose Flower bench in Wilkos. My treat after these night shifts will be to buy it and put it at the back fence facing towards the door. I am looking up home made Lemonade Recipes, if anyone has good ones comment or email.
Maybe a bench and fresh lemonade will help me sit a while and watch the flowers, bee's, birds, and wasps....
Three more nights to go before I can garden/allotment again!

Rain Drop Wasp and Whispering Trees

This winged beastie was resting on Pats green bean leaf the other day. He has handsome black and yellow stipes, metallic wings, and a shiny visor like front.
My Camera batteries decided they were not going to recharge overnight, so I could not take some photos for todays post.
Luckily I have taken soooooo many photos since March I have lots that I never post!
No news from the Estate agents about the house, or from David Austin Roses about my photos.
It was cold last night, with a clear sky, and a quarter moon. The only noise outside the ward was the wind rustling through the trees. They are so calming, healing noise is barely audible, but when I had the silver birch tree I loved to stand outside in the dark to hear its leaves.
I read about sensory gardens, and they mentioned Silver Birches are very good for the calming noise. Its like running water, or the rhythmic sound of waves crashing onto a beach...
Now im resting like my Green bean Wasp. Remembering the Trees.
