End of the day

Its been a fun two days off plant shopping, then arranging and shaping the garden borders from scratch. The power of imigination kicks in, trying to scry through months ahead to when the flowers will be blooming. The blue forget me nots, wild shades of yellow Erysimum's, the pink/red/white of Cajun great balls of fire busy lizzies. The delicate fragrance of my orange tea roses, and hopefully blooms on new rose bushes.
I have a catalogue to peruse for border fillers. Not photographed are summer bulbs from last year that are starting to grow.My gladiolus bulbs have been tidied away by Sallyanne somewhere.I will plant them in a mass block with plenty of supports for when the sword like leaves thrust skywards.
The hosta's are growing now beneath the square border soil, so the busy lizzies have been planted around where i remember the hostas were. They get bigger each you with more leaves.Wierdly they never got attacked by slugs whereas my lettuce and violas and foxgloves got devestated by them.
The plan in my head is flexible, and the arrangement is done squatting down above the soil rearranging plants on top.I kept the multiple plant info labels this time, and have written in a note book the actual arrangement of plants.
This will work untill i lose the book. Its safe at the moment.
I have cooked tea for four of us and am stuffed now, dreaming about the garden.Whether to buy more solar lights.Only two seem to have broken. One firefly globe light with its ghostly light changing colours beneath a glass globe. And one frog light is not working. The other frogs, snails, lanterns, and one firefly globe are glittering away.
Its novel way to use a garden at night with the lights casting strange shadows on the silhouetted plants and shrubs.
Back to work tomorrow, but i will be out daily examining whats growing.Whats failing, and photographing it all.Good night blogosphere!
