Kerria Japonica

Thanks to all the people who told me the mysterious roadside shrub was Kerria Japonica.

I saw even more today, one at a garden centre in its display border, and some small pots for sale!

Its amazing how you suddenly see a flowering shrub everywhere after you notice it for the first time.

Thanks to everyone :)

The Display Kerria Japonica....

The one for sale in the second nursery we visited!

Oh, I love this shrub. I first saw it ALL OVER in the shady landscaping at the Columbus zoo. So beautiful planted under tall trees...

Hi Shannon, After I found out its name from other bloggers commenting I have seen it everywhere.I love the double yellow flowers, and the brightness of it.When i do finally move it will be on my wishlist for the garden!

Question. I have seen a pink one. Just the same as the double yellow form, but the flower was SLIGHTLY smaller. The bush is mainly in shade when the trees above it are in full leaf so that may make a difference. Has anyone any knowledge about a pink version? I haven't seen anything mentioned. Thanks.
