Favourite Show Garden 1

The Princes Trust Garden was done by the Princes trust, Cheshire fire and rescue Service, and the Thorn Cross HM young offenders Institution. It symbolises the journey the youngsters take when accepting help from the princes trust. From the chaotic beginnings at the start, to a set path, with more structured signifying the development of the individual. The back of the garden is for socialising and reflection.
The red colours represent passion and energy tempered by the cool blues and purples at the start of the garden.

I liked the planting against the hard structures. The sun was shining, the wind blowing the grasses, purple/blue star shaped flowers (dont know what they are), and the Verbena Bonarensis.
The side borders were bright and mixture of colours. I thought the whole design was great and striking, hence its one of my favourite show gardens from Tatton.
The Garden is being rebuilt at the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service headquarters in Winsford.

Hi Snappy, Vicki, my wife went to Tatton. I stayed home and did some work - oh woe is me!! There were some nice gardens there by all accounts. Any news of an allotment yet? Bob.

Very symbolic and a cool design! Thanks for sharing these pics, I can really appreciate the creativity of English gardeners, the storied history of garden experience really comes through! I can sure see how you became such a fervent gardener with such inspiration everywhere!

Uk Bob you will have to go next year. What day did she go on?No news of an allotment.I will find a house with garden sooner I think than get one from the council. The other alternative is to get my friend Hils to get us an allotment from a private landlord. In her leafy country village of Walton (where we did the charity plant stall) there is allotments not owned by the council.
I need some practical experience for the RHS course im studying.

Thanks Lisa, you must have caught some of my joys from the day as you have read all the posts and seen the photos.I wander if the English love of gardening comes from the earth, or from the long history.Tatton had a mix of ages from children to pensioners, equally split between male and female.
It is the first Flower show I have visited.I saw the TV before for the Chelsea flower show. Its different being in front of the gardens than seeing it on the RHS website or on the TV with Rachel De Caen, joe Swift, and Carol Klein.
It makes you want more flower shows to see how creative garden designers can be, and what similarities there will be between contrasting gardens. As you look at each new one the themes emerge.

Ooooh... if you are talking about the blue starry ball-shaped flowers, they are echinops. I have those (haven't bloomed yet) plus the Caradonna salvia, verbena bonariensis, and even some reddish dahlias... but somehow they look much more striking here. *sigh*

The Sun was shining here making the flowers stand out, and the camera picked them out with good definition.I love the Verbena Bonarensis here. Its mystical looking :)
