Fireworks!

This tree is an explosion of orange/yellow/brown growing in the hospital.
Im amazed how trees know when to take the chlorophyll away and turn their leaves into a spectacular show of colour before dropping them.
Natures own firework show, regular cycle of growth, colouration, then falling.
The november sunlight makes the leaves dance a last tango.
I love the photo :)

OOoh, David, I love this photo too!
and your description is right-on!

The tree reminds me of a time long ago, when I worked in a little hospital.
One of the patients, an old lady, would call me into her room just before sunset.
There was a BIG tree outside her window, just across the street.
The birds would flock to it and then rise up and circle the tree over and over again, finding the right place to roost for the night.
I was just a young girl
and she showed me this beautiful sight.
I would always take a break this time of day, and she and I would sit together watching the birds.
Nice memory, thanks for bringing it up in my mind.
