Yesterday was Remembrance day, but today was service of remembrance at the Cenotaph led by the Queen.

Even today The guns are still sounding in Iraq, and Afghanistan, making the service even more poignant.
Here people have worn their poppies with pride, even when the liberals suggested forgetting our war veterans, and fallen soldiers from all countries.
The image was swiped from the BBC.The poppies amongst the crosses.

Thanks for that link Snappy. It is important to remember, yes.
Hope the weather is better down your way.
Bests
Thanks Horizon, we do need to remember.Your family were effected by the first world war.Love your pic of your grandparents walking up the hilly road. The weather here has been wet and windy, but not too cold.
Sounds like your weather has been just like ours.
We certainly owe a huge debt of gratitude to our Veterans and Servicemen and women. God bless them all.
I agree Kerri whole heartedly. The world is full of bad places and situations. Our armed forces just go where they are told, and do the job as best they can.Unfortunately the price they can pay is the ultimate one.I watched as they held services in the green zone in Baghdad, and in the mountains of Afghanistan. The British troops remembering both world wars, and conflicts since then.
