The Soul Of Montmartre
This Hyacinth flower is Fashionably Late for the show. It has a colour like crushed purple velvet...
I am going to Paris in Febuary and this reminds me of the Moulin Rouge,

The colourful flower with the gentle arching curves, and the light reflecting of the petals. It reminds me of Can Can Dancers with the bright costumes and Energy.
Henri Toulouse Lautrec pictures spring to mind. He had a great love of Life, and painted 19th Century Paris nightlife. He liked painting the dancers, and the people who attended the nightly Revues.

Hyacinths have such heady perfume, I think they smell like a cross between Lavender and Candy sticks. The kitchen has occasional whiffs of the Flowers perfume.
Maybe the Toulouse Lautrec Dancers and Women he sketched and painted had some perfume, reminiscent of the fragrant hyacinths.

I'm a big fan of Toulouse Lautrec too. When I was in Paris about 12 years ago I went all through the D'Orsay Museum looking for his paintings. They are really impressive. I'm sure you'll have a great time in Paris in February. I was there during March and it's a great time to really see the structure of French gardens. If you haven't been there before, try to go to the Rodin Museum and enjoy the garden there. That and the Pere Lachaise Cemetery were my favorite spots in Paris.
Congratulations on your new home and garden! I've been enjoying catching up on your posts on how you're transforming the garden.
