They look very much like Alstromeria, which are used a lot in cut flower arrangements. They are supposed to be very easy to grow, although I haven't tried them yet.

You sound like a hyperactive gardener, David, but it's wonderful that you enjoy it so much.

Thanks Alice, i am very hyperactive at work, and in the garden.I keep getting up to do another job.I love the colours of these flowers...would love to grow them but they look very tropical.

Snappy! I have this too but white one. I have it in the pot and I have a photo of it somewhere on my blog, maybe May or June post if you have a look. It's still blooming and I try to keep it alive over winter.
