Cotton day

Me and Sallyannes second wedding anniversary is today, we have spent a relaxing day.I cooked a three course meal.Chicken and leek soup, steamed white fish, baby veg, saute potatoes, and roasted sweet potatoe.Followed by a choc sponge with caramel sauce. And some strong italian coffee with an after eight mint.
I took a few pics today, now uploading onto the laptop. My hydrangea cuttings have wilted.I will get more but cover them with a plastic bag this time to keep the moisture in them.Im guessing the dry heat is making them lose all their water.
The borders are full of colour still and dont need much attention.sunflowers blooming, morning glories, snapdragons with buzzing bee's.The lavender have blue flower spikes. The violas in the long border bring some colour to the soil.
The Dahlia looks lovely, but no flower yet.Im dying to see what colour it is.The more work you put into a garden the less you do i think in the heady summer days of July.
My blackberry bushes growing in the hedges have flowered, and i guess the centre becomes the black, sweet fruit.
I caught Tia today lounging in a box of hedge clippings on top of the brown bin, some five feet in the air.Since i tidied her last home up behind the brown bin.I just spotted her white ears over the top of the cardboard.I just checked and she was asleep.Cara was lounging by the hedge in the shade.
We also went with Kelly to see her new house. It has a small garden (alpine like) and the maddest tree like a large bonsai.A stone bench, a stone planter. The front has two small squares for planting.A future mission is to sort out Kellys garden.
Time to chill out this bastille day, this cotton anniversary day.
