"In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful." (~Abram L. Urban)

I am so jealous... I have tried to propagate African violets from cut leaves many, many times and have never had any luck! Any hints?
Hi Blackswamp girl, this is the first baby plant i have grown from a leaf cutting.I selected a good fat healthy leaf, filled a glass with water. Covered a glass with paper and wrapped an elastic band around the paper.I made a hole in the paper and poked the stem through so it was immersed in water. It sat on the windowsill away from direct sunlight. It grew translucent roots.it was then transplanted into a pot.I kept it moist and the parent leaf away from the soil.A few months later I found baby leaves growing up from the soil.I cant remember which African violet it grew from, the purple flowered or white/purple flower.Good luck if you try!
